Re: Installing Ermish Outer Tie Rods
I would assume this would be a good point for just about any car, as long as you don't have something weird going on with significantly more droop travel than bump or vice versa.

Re: New Distributor system with programmable timing
That's pretty cool. I wonder how it would compare to something like MegaJolt:

Seems cheaper, but also more DIY.

Re: Suspension Setups
Sucks the Koni guy won't help you out. Do you at least know the dimensions and stroke of whatever damper you're looking for? He should able to pick one out for you at that point, right? You might also give him the dimensions and stroke of a stock 510 damper, along with your desired spring rate so he...

Re: Suspension Setups
Well that sucks. It was recommended to me by a completely clueless and unhelpful ground control technical support representative. Maybe look into the 8641 family then, as the 1547 is just the valving. I do have a picture of those two dampers side by side, so it is odd that it's not coming up. http:/...

Re: Suspension Setups
I've been recommended the 8641-1547 before, which i think is a standard Koni yellow shock, so carries a lifetime warranty, but is sealed so not rebuildable like the 8610 race shocks are. Depends on what you're looking for. It's more of an off the shelf part, whereas the race shocks are assembled bur...

Re: Suspension Setups
YOu can also try these guys: http://truechoicekoniracingservices.com/
They're pros, in my limited experience, and Koni makes a good shock, made in USA too. They might be a little pricier than the QA1s, but come with a great warranty.

Re: Building a Morgan 3-Wheeler Replica
Possible, but not probable in my experience. Take out the coilover and the whole thing moves freely given the movement limits of the tightened rubber bushings, and bump/droop travel in real life doesn't exceed free bump/droop travel. Shocks are mounted via poly bushings, but the mounts are aligned ...

Re: Building a Morgan 3-Wheeler Replica
Is it possible something is binding? How are the shocks mounted? Spherical bearings? They're not anywhere near the limits of their travel, are they?

Re: My project
What power distribution block is that mounted to the console? Is it programmable? I've been shopping for a cheap-ish solid state wiring solution for when I eventually wire my racecar, but haven't found anything that fits the bill. There's this little 4-channel device here: http://www.cartekmotorspor...

Re: Nissan IDx 10 concept is the new 510/Bluebird Coupe
Lastly, they also claim the two cars are driveable, but are built on S15 chassis . So much for the Juke theory. S15...wtf. I thought they had said these cars were close-ish to production. If they're built on an obsolete ten year old Nissan chassis, then we're a long way out. That's disappointing.

Re: Nissan IDx 10 concept is the new 510/Bluebird Coupe
Today Nissan is late in returning to the entry level sport compact party they started back in the 60s. If they want to hit the dance floor again they are going to have to dance to the standards of todays market, but with a 1.5L CVT power train the IDx won't even make it to the floor. If Nissan buil...
