Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

I haven't updated my thread since September... I'll try to do a couple of small posts to get it up to date, if I can remember everything I did by looking at all the pictures. Most of what I did in the lats 6 month is still rust repair anyway... Let's start exactly where I left off. Finished and clea...

Re: Momo wheel installed... but difficulties with the momo hub...

There's also a gap on mine and I was wondering if it was normal... I thought maybe the column plastic was cut down by previous owners for another hub. I guess it's normal... I did not check if the tab makes contact with the hub.

I'll be waiting for your feedback on the Silvermine coilover kit. It looks like a decent budget solution. I didn't know about them! They have some interesting 510 bits and pieces.

Re: Firewall/Cowl geometry question

that be the center drain for the cowl.it is on all years and all models of 510s. it is prone to plugging and sometimes it needs to be removed during restoration if rust is found in the cowl or center drain. I had to do it on 6inches of rust . I would share a link but I hosted the pics on photo buck...

Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

The bottom of that patch is supposed to be open. Might have been bashed shut by a engine install. Water drains through. Get a coat hanger wire and clear it out. Thank you! That's exactly what I needed. It was completly shut. I just opened it up and all the crap fell out https://i.imgur.com/lkGjdoR....

Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

I posted the same question in the body thread, but I'm very curious so I'll also post it here in case different people read it. I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine bay and plugging unsed holes. I noticed something weird in the center of the firewall and I can't find any logical reason for it...

Firewall/Cowl geometry question

I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine bay and plugging unsed holes. I noticed something weird in the center of the firewall and I can't find any logical reason for it. My shell is far from original and I found many suprises, maybe it's one of those again... In the center of the firewall in the...

Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

It's official, I'm going to be a dad in May 2020. The project might slow down... I doubt It could be worse than right now anyway since I've been telling myself the floors are almost done for more than a month now (and they clearly aren't) But I swear I'm not going to abandon it. I've already investe...

Re: Lap belt anchor point

ALright, thanks again guys. I keep finding this kind of surprises on this shell. It's my first 510 so I'm not aware of those little details. You could bolt a nice tab onto the roll bar mount, extend it over the the same spot, so that the seat belt "pull" is correct. I cannot use the roll b...

Re: Lap belt anchor point

Ok... So I started by grinding off the paint before cutting to see if there was any evidence of welding in the area. The original paint is still there and there isn't any sign of patchwork. Both sides are identical... Not a single captive nut in sight... Does anybody have an idea of what's going on ...

Re: Corbeau Forza seats fitment

I ordered a pair of Corbeau Forza with the rails, I was confident it would fit with your feedback. For future reference,it does fit in the stock location without any kind of modification, but it is very close to the door. https://i.imgur.com/l2pFM5C.jpg I decided to move them inward about 1/2"....
