Re: Timing cover

Yes he has a Z20 or Z22 timing cover. The Z24 is 2cm taler. I fit an L head over a Z series timing cover and it seals, though you can't use the 10mm bolts into the timing cover. It's a bit thin in one spot so I added a little JB weld to the head and filed it down flat. The front head to timing cover...

The 510 idler arm is the same as the 610/710/B-210 and the S10 200sx

Re: Timing cover

The Z24 is 2cm (about 3/4") taller than the L20B, Z20/22. Does this look like about 2cm different?

Re: Datsun l18 engine rod l16 l18 piston

L18 pistons on L16 rods that are almost 3mm longer will have them protrude from the top of the block by 3.1mm. You could extend a maximum 1/3mm safely above the block but cutting this much off the piston top is going to make them rather thin. According to Jason Gray there is a Z20S piston that has a...

Re: Original 510 Front Struts/Brakes & 4-Speed Transmission

Hainz tells the story of when he cleared out his garage he put three 510 four speeds out on the front lawn with a sign saying FREE. When he got home from work there were four. The 26" long F4W63 4 speed was used in the 520 with J13 engines (the exception was the 610 F4W63 that were 31.5" l...

KA24E or KA24DE engine? From a 240sx or D21 Hardbody?

The KA fitting transmission is a 71C. Never heard of a Zf6. What's it out of?

The KA engines use either an external or internal oil pump and neither use pistons.

Re: A Warning

Some of these people were professionals, once a doctor, a Jazz Airline pilot, had accountants in my office, all blinded by greed. You can't cheat an honest man. I have six+ FAKE checks from craigslist scammers sending me "too much money, please refund asap!". These people are desparately ...

If anything is unsolicited just ignore outright. I never answer the phone or the door unless I know who it is. As far as approving a new member's first post if their profile doesn't include something Datsun or Nissan I leave it and wait for an introduction or post that has a Datsun/Nissan question. ...

Re: WTB::Dust shield/ separator plate for 63a

The Z20/22/24 in the 720, the Z20/22 S110 200sx and the KA24E and KA24DE in the D21 Hardbody and S13 240zx all use the same part number for the automatic engine plate as the 510, so standard plates should also work. 30411-21000

Re: WTB::Dust shield/ separator plate for 63a

The plate between engine and transmission? Any L series 4 or 6 cylinder plate will do. Even an automatic will work it's just two piece.

Also fits the 610 through '74 and the 710 through '75. Pretty common.

Re: Greetings from Tennessee 1980 510 Wagon

US '80 A10s (HL510) switched to the Z20S engine. Canada kept the L20B that year and changed in '81. gruic: I would replace all fluids as you never know what previous owners did or didn't do. By the time a vehicle gets above the third owner neglect set in and they are often driven into the ground. Br...

Re: Degree in a cam.

There is no way to adjust the cam timing other than the three adjustment settings. You would need an adjustable sprocket for that. It's be close enough.

Re: Degree in a cam.

With the engine precisely at TDC look through the top hole on the cam sprocket. If it timed correctly you should see this... https://i.imgur.com/otMggUE.jpg Note that the notch on the cam sprocket is below and just slightly to the right of the horizontal etched line above it on the cam thrust plate....
