Re: Shortened Driveshaft Question

Cool thanks guys, yeah duh I should have mentioned the tranny. 5 speed dogleg. So likely mine is still stock and will have to be shortened though it sounds like it probably would have had to anyway aye? This is good info to know as I have to drive at least an hour to get to just anything and I'm hop...

Shortened Driveshaft Question

From what I can gather the driveshaft has to be shortened for an l20b swap correct? It also has to be shortened if you do a ka swap. My question is, what are the odds that my driveshaft is already prefect for a ka swap since I already have an l20b? Several factors involved I know. I hope to use a co...

Re: Wheel lug nut question Loose

Thanks guys I'll check up on all that. I made the possibly bad assumption that the nuts he sent me with the wheels etc should be right, I"ll double check everything.

Wheel lug nut question Loose

A couple of weeks ago now I put swashtika rims on. As far as I can tell the wheels themselves do not rub on anything. The tires being 60 instead of 50 do rub just a bit on the floor board if I happen to turn into a steep rise or dip. Nothing crazy though. Today however I developed some weird thump t...

Re: Pickup available, what all should I grab?

Well I tried the old half a broom stick method and it really sounds like a steelie bouncing around under the valve cover. Sometimes it smacks the top and sometimes it doesn't. Really loud metallic pop when it does. Pretty much only does it at idle and if I let the clutch out a bit it will mostly go ...

Re: Pickup available, what all should I grab?

Well currently I have that horrible very loud tapping noise which I believe is a combination of timing chain and tensioner not working 100 percent. I just need to find the time to take a look. I also need to readjust the valves as my first attempt at doing it myself left them too loose. Most of whic...

Re: Pickup available, what all should I grab?

Yeah I am I think. I may see if I can get it started in that pickup before I pull it and if it sounds good I may drop it in mine and rebuild the other maybe?
Not sure yet. Hopefully I'll be snagging it all this weekend.

Re: Pickup available, what all should I grab?

Cool thanks guys. I was actually thinking about pulling it and swapping it with mine. Then maybe rebuilding mine or selling a few bits etc.
At any rate I'll grab what you two suggested next weekend.

Pickup available, what all should I grab?

Hey all I found a pickup the guy will let me pick over. I can have motor and about whatever else for 250 but he won't let me haul the pickup off. He'll probably crush the leftovers so I need to know what all to get. Looked just like my motor so l20b, i didn't think to look at the head. It's all comp...

ka24 donor clarification Super Hicas edition

Would a 1991 Nissan 240sx Super Hicas edition work for the swap or for some weird reason would their be troubles with it because of the rear steer setup. I wondered if perhaps the computer etc might be an issue? I've been keeping my eye out for an entire car that is close to running that I could sco...

Re: Slightly different look and flares filled

Great thanks I'll definitely keep that size in mind when I am ready to get another set! Will those typically fit if I'm down an inch?

Re: Slightly different look and flares filled

Yepper. I'm hoping I'll get to autocross some this summer finally it will be the first time in 6 years (previously not in this car) so I'll probably have different tires by then anyway. For now these replace my bald ones and the price can't be beat. Ok ok ok free would beat 50.
