SR20DET Coolant Plumbing Questions
edit: got my questions answered! Guys, I'd like to learn what's going on with this coolant plumbing under the intake manifold on my engine, perhaps someone can enlighten me. The engine came from a 510 race car but I'm transplanting it into a 510 street car. Hose connections #1 and 2 are obviously su...

Re: SR20 Radiator Suggestions
Except for thickness I like that the Ron Davis rad is vertical flow thereby have the tanks on the top/bottom and leaving room on the sides for intercooler plumbing. Contrary to my earlier thought that I'm trying to leave my rad panel stock, I'm forgetting that mods will be required for the ic plumbi...

Re: Lets see some welding pics!
Okayfine, if you are learning try to ensure that your stock is virgin alum. As icehouse mentions your stock appears to have a zinc or magnese component, which will not weld, or not weld well. Anodized stock should also be avoided unless you uniformly remove about 10 thou of the anodized surface. You...

Re: SR20 Radiator Suggestions
Thanks for the replies guys. The motor is turbo, will only see street use. 3" thick Intercooler in front of the rad, and I'd like the factory grill in place so there is no room for a pusher fan. There was a fan in place on the donor car, but the fan was pressed tight against the core tubes and ...

SR20 Radiator Suggestions
All, I'm transplanting the drivetrain from a SR20 510 race car into a street chassis and I'm curious if there is a tidy radiator solution to the one I currently have - Griffin "double pass" both inlet/outlet on right. The motor is SR20 and the front clearance is too tight for a cooling fan...

Re: Which diff do I have?
Anyone happen to know if you could get a R190 ratio to the tune about 3.5:1 ? (Somehow I suspect not)

Re: Any one know what happened to this 510/smart car?
In another post you mention he owned a welding shop. Any other details about how you remember that? The driver was from Calgary and did not last the two nights to finish. http://www.realautosport.com/images/mcmahon/Rally%20Photos/Rally79-80/Rallypor80-27%20sleet%20ahead.jpg I happened to catch him g...

Re: Which diff do I have?
I happened to be back at my shop to do some work tonight and I read both of your posts about measuring the crown gear. I've never been certain where the R1xx number applied. Anyhow, the widest point on the crown teeth measured 191mm so I'll presume it's an R190, and yes that is a 4.444 stamped on th...

Which diff do I have?
Folks, only my second post here and again I come looking for info. I want to use this LSD diff which I acquired only with a different gear ratio. I was under the presumption that it's an R180 but the case is larger than the other known R180 I have (with the gears I want). Case is .5" taller whe...

Thanks for the feedback and suppliers names OKAYFINE. I'll check them out. Most certain they will know what rate springs to sell me with the coil overs.

Source for Rear Coilovers?
I'm new here and have a couple questions, hoping someone can give a little direction. I've been looking around and don't see a source for direct fit rear coilovers for a 510. Any suppliers? Otherwise I guess I could order components through one of the shock suppliers. I searched and read that struct...

Intro - 510 Has Been
After a 24 year hiatus I now own a 510 once again. Not much has changed I see, 510s still rust... but me on the other hand faired even worse, balding, thick glasses, chipped tooth, pot bellied and bad breath. My friends are having a laugh at me accusing me of trying to relive my youth. To heck with ...
