Re: 1978-1981 HL510 steering box
I just saw the answer on the bluebird list. $600 usd including round trip shipping in the states. . I'd expect shipping to and from Canada to add a noticeable amount.

Your woman's intuition is spot on with the cord under the seal. I'm also not sure if it's a pro trick. And I prefer to have the window out. But it's common practice in the back yard I hang out in. We are watching and your doing great.

Re: Carpet choices 2022..?
There should be a thin groove in the rubber boot to slip into the edge of that metal trim piece. Then the carpet fits under the first fold. On a factory carpet the hole is sewn or is serged the right word. There are 2 styles of rubber boot, round and oval. You want an oval one. The early setup is ni...

Re: Carpet choices 2022..?
My son bought a carpet kit. But you still have to cut the shifter hole yourself. I just buy carpet and cut the tunnel peice myself. I use an old factory carpet as a template. For the floors I always use rubber mats. The early cars got a trim ring. But for later standard cars I have the metal that sc...

Also the original Nissan rubber motor mounts are the ones you want. The aftermarket are much taller. Maybe someone has installed aftermarket ones. They are available from Nissan. Google will find you some or a part number. Also I slot the mount where they bolt to the block. Mostly on the pass side t...

I have no affiliation with with car. Id go look but don't see any reason. A rusty project with no papers or a paying customer doesn't interest me. Lol. It's been for sale for a while.

Re: Am I in over my head? '70 2 door from scratch
I wish you luck with reassembly. But to rechrome the brackets you have no other choice. Datsport sell new rubber for both the glass to frame and frame to body. I've got them together once. And on the last attempt I couldn't do it. Had to paint another set intact. Also Nissan still sells the latch pa...

Re: L20b installation question
You could raise the car body to help clear the valve cover. I've found even with the slotting of the mount there still can be some interference. I've used clay to check clearance when the engine is static and easily had 3/8. But still got a little hood dent after running the engine. It's the movemen...
