Re: subaru STI rear diff?
The easy part is finding a diff, the hard part is buying 1 with the input flanges so you get the right splines. Below is a picture of how it can be done. Preferred method is to be able to leave an edge where you can use a press to butt the 2 surfaces together then weld, but these seem to work (unles...

Just a heads up as a possible alternative. any pix of this? i have looked at the Z seals, but havent seen what a 510 seal actually looks like  to compare. it seems that it has the correct fit...

Re: CA18DET Swap
Reversing the crossmember can be done by cutting the middle section of the crossmember out, reversing it, and welding it back in. But I believe the best way is to drill out the control arm pin holes and swap them around and weld back in. The control arm pins are different on each end (one tapers to ...

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/3289/my510underei7.jpg Here is the rear end from Graham's wagon that he built, it was actually an S13 rear end. Apparently had some issues with suspension travel (to short), but it's still going strong. If you are going to attempt a swap I'd say go for the S14 rea...

Nissan model number is something like C110 or HGC110. This is what the coupe looks like; http://www.motorbase.com/uploads/2003/04/01/fs_240_k_gt_1974_06.jpg but there is also a 4 door sedan. Be careful not to get the C210 trailing arms, as they are different. If you have an S14 rear end, might be wo...

You can use Z31 turbo hubs on the rear as well. We did this on my brothers car. 2 options, first one is to use the 510 trailing arm with a smaller inside wheel bearing as the Z31 hub tapers up to 35mm on the inside from 30mm. Second option is to find a set of 240k rear arms, weld on the shock mounti...
