rockin the stockers
Till I figure out what to do about my leaking and potentially cracked Libre, i decided to rock the stock rims (13 x 4"?) and hubcaps for a while. Nice, skinny 175/70 13" Sumitomo HTR tires on there. I pumped those little suckers up to 36psi and went out for a 2 hour high speed shred sessio...

NOS skid plate
I bought the skid plate that was on ebay about a month ago. Expensive, but a cool NOS optional part that fits the theme of my car well. It bolted directly between the front rad support/frame rail and the crossmember and the wind deflector/splash guard fits over it perfectly. Unfortunately, it doesn'...

LIbre cracked?
After nearly 4000 miles of vicious back road driving, a slow leak in one of my 14" x 5.5" American Racing Libre's became a faster leak and I decided to investigate. I pulled the wheel, hoping to find a leak along the bead or at the valve stem that would be easy to fix. Unfortunately, it ap...

Re: troy ermish 2300cc L20 questions
What Byron said. I spoke at length with Troy about his 2 main motor options but never did drive one. Realize that his 150hp motor has a Mikuni 44 dual side draft setup. I was going to go this route but after the carbs and the rest of it, I decided to take a more budget approach as it seemed I'd be i...

Re: WTB '70-73 dash center piece, can be cut for stereo
ratdat,
The center piece in the top dash looks like what I'm after. l Could you pull it out and take a few picks for me?
I'm pretty sure it's the same and the LHD models, but I can't be sure without seeing a little more. Mainly bolt hole locations. Are those RHD 510 dashboards?
Thanks!

Bought, Thanks Realm! '70-73 dash center piece
I'm looking for a '70-'73 dash center piece, where the stereo and ashtray live. It can be cut for a stereo with a din chassis, as that's what I'm going to do with it. I don't need the ashtray. A functioning cig lighter socket would be great for radar detector use; I don't need the actual lighter par...

Re: '72 4 door, Tweety Bird
A nice looking new trans cross member and insulator to match my fresh motor mounts. I'm not sure who the maker is; props because they did a top job. I got if from Rod at Rods Discount Datsun parts, with the new insulator. It adds about 2" of clearance between the crossmember and the exhaust and...

Re: '72 4 door, Tweety Bird
Great story Byron! It looks like your cross member took most of the impact and your oil pan was spared. I searched around a little and wound up reading some of Derek's phenomenally descriptive posts on his Targa Newfoundland prep. He notes a rocker panel static ride height of about 7.25". The o...

Re: Road Carnage and good friends.
Great story! I love it when this type of thing happens and you pull it together with a crew pitching in. Mad wrenching late at night can yield fantastic results, especially when the pressure is on.

Re: '72 4 door, Tweety Bird
I came out two weeks ago to go for a spin and the clutch was soft. A few pumps on the pedal and it was gone all together and there was a pool of fluid under the slave. I put in a new slave and master, then realized that the engagement point on the lever arm on the trans was way off. The original sla...
