Edm620 wrote: 29 Mar 2023 18:08 I like how it's looking, the track width is excellent!
Thanks! Yeah, that was pretty much the exact size flares/track width I wanted for this sized vehicle. Those 2" rear flares barely clear the 255 (despite an et 63!) but thankfully the camber pulls them in as the compression increases.

Re: Project 635 - 300HP RWD 620

Looking good. My favorite Enkei wheel for larger diameters. Thanks! They're pretty damn light too which is nice. I was a little nervous getting 17". I feel 15/16" is the sweet spot on the 620, but they just don't have anything wider than 225 in those diameters with a reasonably short side...

Another road session

I threw another dozen hrs into the truck this weekend and the wiring is now almost done. It was one of those weekends where I actually got more done than planned so I decided to take the truck out for another spin. Profile.jpg Fans, ECU, and main headlights are now done. I'm still trying to identify...

Soooo close to being done!

It's been over a month since the last update. I've been chipping away at my to-do list, the last week or two has picked up due to favorable garage temps. Despite the length of time since the last update, she's still not done - but very close! I'm at the point of no longer writing/updating my To-Do l...

Re: Project 635 - 300HP RWD 620

Nice touches and good progress. It is funny how some things that we do on these projects feel like big steps forward and other things that can take days don't feel at all like we are making progress. Thanks! This latest update is much the same regarding small changes, but the good news is that my t...

Edm620 wrote: 20 Feb 2023 16:42 Man that is looking good. If only I had a moment in person, I'm driving to Halifax tomorrow but under a deadline. I definitely need the headliner mounting sequence... one day in the future...

Interior is nearly done

While I've been steadily working on 635, it seems like visible progress is minimal. A lot of the work I'm doing is not a high visibility item but is taking a disproportionally large amount of time. A good example is 3D printing sunvisor clips. Something so minimal in the grand scheme of things has t...

Great progress Fritz! I am actually in Ottawa today and was over the weekend but didn't think to try to connect. ... I'll try to connect next time I'm out this way, would love to see what you've got going on. Yes! Always fun to connect & chat with another Realm member. Definitely given me a cal...

Slow but steady progress

A quick update on 635 build (recently christened 'Hustler'). I've been slowly chipping away at the electrical. Working speed has definitely relaxed so I can enjoy the process more, and knowing it won't be on the road for another couple of months at the earliest. Front and rear wiring is pretty much ...

Project 635 - all structural/mechanical work is complete.

I hit a pretty large milestone this weekend. All structural and mechanical work is now done. There may be some small modifications down the road, but the truck is physically pretty much done and I'm down to electrical, interior trimming, and some small body pieces. CabBedMounted.jpg First, I finally...

Thanks for the feedback. With all the amazing builds out there that I enjoy to read, it's nice to contribute in my own right.

Final post for 2022

I thought I'd squeeze in a final post for 2022 and give a good example where you have to be willing to sometimes take a cut-off wheel to a finished product - 'for the greater good'. PassengerShockTower.jpg In anticipation of installing the cab, I took some time to pre-plan my battery lines to the en...

Re: Project 635 - 300HP RWD 620

... have you considered a screen over the inlet to keep out leaves & other debris? I had not considered a screen - thanks for the reminder! I was pretty lucky that I didn't have any nests/rodent bodies. I can say whenever I applied heavy welding to the frame rails I would get a distinct rodent ...

Project 635 - 3D printing and new toy

In this festive season I figured it would be appropriate to talk about toys. Several years ago I purchased a Prusa 3D printer. It's proven invaluable in prototyping parts (510 electric steering kit) and other bits around the house/garage. Project 635 was no different, there were a few parts that nee...

Re: Project 635 - 300HP RWD 620

BTW, I will also be needing to get a new windshield so let me know where you find one. If you weren't across the country we could maybe get a discount on 2! I actually have a brand new windshield for the 620. My son picked one up for me in New Jersey a couple of years ago. I also have a faded old o...
