Re: New Member

Welcome to the Realm Andy, good to have you here.

Feel free to hunt away, lots of parts kicking around, and we'd love to see a pic of your ride.

Re: "83 280ZX close ratio box and 3:90 differential

The "close ratio" ZX box - close ratio being a standard misnomer as it really isn't - but it's slightly closer ratio than the early box. However the ZX 'close ratio' nothing like what Bert posted above, which is a true close ratio box. There were three close ration comp boxes from what I understand ...

Re: OCTOBERFAST 2018

I'm in all weekends for a drive.
I'm also doing a track day on the 14th of Sept, hoping to get the jetting sorted - otherwise the EFI is going back on.
Looking forward to the cruise on the new surface.

Re: de-tuning a race engine

Both Keith and Norm spent big $$$ getting their L motors to the place they are - but they work well. Keith's turbo motor is understated, it was 25 years of development to get the 50 years of service! Norms N/A motor has 40 years of Andy's proven race knowledge in it. Both cost 5-10x more than you'd ...

Re: All Japanese Classic '18 - August 26th - Waterfront Park

When it was pouring rain as I was driving to the event at 6am... I honestly thought the worst. But to stopped raining by the time I was dragging the PA equipment out, and it was sunny by the time registration started. In the end, about 50 pre-reg'd cars didn't show, but we had about 50 at the gate. ...

Re: All Japanese Classic '18 - August 26th - Waterfront Park

So will we :-) Pre Registration hit 224 this year! Here's a run down at the day before the show; -Classics take up 59 entries. Of those preregistered were 23 Classic Datsun's -12x 510's, 9x Z's and only 1 Roadster. I'm expecting a bunch more at the gate, but that's an amazingly low number of preregi...

Looks like a familiar shop at the end https://youtu.be/bbBKthPq3MY Ok, so this is odd, and kind of weird. Someone took my brothers build thread, put their name and watermark on it and added it to their list of projects....using only the shots where we are not in them...nice! https://www.youtube.com...

Re: Valve Train

Any head built prior to 1978 I believe had the Bronze intake & cast iron exhaust seats, so that makes sense.

Re: Valve Train

Stellite is the trade name for the alloy most commonly used on quality newer seats. Your exhaust seats are likely cast iron, I’d have these changed at the same time to stellite as well. If it’s a U67 head, I’d upgrade the intake valves from the stock 42mm to the 280z 44mm, and the exhaust 34mm to th...

Hi Keith, I’m leaving here around 8, headed out to my fathers place to pick him up and out to the track from there. It’s 1:30am, and I’ve gone about as far as I could tonight with jetting the carbs. Drop in if you like, send me a text to my cell if your coming out - then I’ll know you’re on your way...
