Re: 2024 CAR SHOWS & DRIVES
Thanks for the offer, will keep that in mind for sure. After my experience last time, we need to be at the park/regi for who ever comes up, at 6 AM! Which means if we drove up day of, that would be a 2 AM start time...UG! I don't even think I could do that now. Weather window in mountains would have...

Re: Suspension Advice Needed
Yes, "free height" was 13" and spring rate was 89.5 inch/lbs, very soft considering what it took to really make a 510 handle. Re your noise..just double check that the shock bushings really do separate the shock body from the mounting pin, IE in the center of the 2 bushings where they...

2.5 ID? Seems too small to me on a stock strut?! if in reality 275 and and 950...that would be ok I guess. Specialty's "street" suspension was 200 and 900 if I remember right. My front bar is 1 1/8"...... Not sure I can comment on the free spring length...the HARD suspension free leng...

Re: Suspension Advice Needed
Funny, I as going to type a reply this morning, as I had been thinking about your question. Others have answered some so I will leave it at that. Not sure what you meant on the "2.50"? The stock springs can be cut of course, one has to make sure you have NOT lost travel..and could hit the ...

Re: STEERING BOX DRAIN PROCEDURE 2012
Just in case you never saw this..my post on box adjustment: Roll the car forward a few feet, to make sure the wheels are pointing forward. Then, take a wrench and loosen the jam nut on the top of the steering box, AT THE SAME TIME, put a slotted screw driver into the slot in the top of the screw, AN...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Ha...so do we miss it, we used to go there a LOT back in the late 70's, early 80's. That braided steel line I run my wires through to the switch box......is WATER line from a Boeing plane! Who would know..!!!???/ As soon as I saw it in coils in the surplus store, I bought a bunch of sizes, knowing I...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Oh Yah, the sign. That was the time Dave Krulitsky followed us in his huge Chevy van. We had 14 people on that weekend I think. That was when we had the BIG crash at the go-carts and Jaz got his hand and leg hurt, that was a pretty hard hit we all got into, glad I was in the lead...ha..ha... Good me...

Whoa...hold the phone, rewind the camera..... What's with the licence plate screws....on such a beautiful build and we have sub-standard mounting screws..... I used some nice socket head stainless with washers, looks really good. That camera is too cool! I worry when backing into curbed parkin...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
The Knox poster I always did for our annual walk up the Hill, to scope out any road changes, etc. It really was an excuse for 12 hours of bench racing, and, the insanity of how intense the go-carts were. It got so the owner knew when we showed up, he would NOT let civilians be on there with us, so w...
