Re: list of all nuts and bolt sizes for a 510 ?????
Hey sorry, lost track of this. We did this 20 years ago and my memory was a bit more optimistic than my approach. Unfortunately I don't have a list per se, and sadly what I do have might probably won't help you much. Here's the backstory: When we restored the car we disassembled everything that coul...

Re: Moving Alternator to driver's side - Existing bracket?
I made brackets for under the distributor to hold a D21 power steering pump and an adjustment pulley as the pump was solidly mounted. All with a $75 POS drill press, bolts, nuts (no welder then) and some washers. https://i.imgur.com/3spyHUU.jpg You're hired! :D Alright then, I'll get off my ass and...

Re: Moving Alternator to driver's side - Existing bracket?
The AC mount is a HEAVY!!!! cast iron monster. Make your own for a simple alternator. An L20B air injection pump mount has to be lighter. I hear ya, but the only fabrication equipment I have is a hand drill, hacksaw, and cheap 110v mig welder (I have a Tig but still learning on that). Neither the M...

Re: '69 510 - Lysholm Twin-Screw Project
The idea of a missing tooth is interesting. I had planned on removing material, or add a counter weight to avoid an imbalance, but my V1 design is definitely overkill. I was on the Fusion360 forums and a guy was helping me with some of the finer points of the program. He whipped up a simple sheet me...

Re: Stripped top starter bolt
yeah, I think I'd have to remove my oil filter to make some room. I was also trying to avoid drilling through the metal plate that is sandwiched in-between the block and the transmission. I did some research and these guys seem to be edging in on the Heli-Coil monopoly. Time-Sert http://www.timesert...

Alternator - T1 and T2
This is a 55A Hitachi/Nissan alternator. Anyone remember which spade is which, and were do they get hooked up. As I remember, one is sensing (connects to BAT) and one goes to dash Alt light? I think my Alt light was alway slightly glowing, and I need to add a resistor somewhere. I think. IMG_2938.jpg

Re: '69 510 - Lysholm Twin-Screw Project
I'm using a few wraps of electrical tape around the the sensor to keep the vibrations down on the housing. That, and the sensor is just undersized to the closest drill bit, so unless I get the darn thing machined, this is how it's going to be. At some point I'll CAD a new bracket, 3D print a prototy...

Re: '69 510 - Lysholm Twin-Screw Project
I had to take off my crank pulley to get to my old crank sensor bracket. Rebello set this up way back when, and he used two of the bolts for the front cover to mount the he bracket. Unfortunately the bolt is very long and once the the trigger wheel is mounted on there you can't get the bolt out. I f...
