Re: Update Project KA24DET
Car looks great! I'm in the process of figuring out what to do with my worn out R200 lsd and was wondering how the install went with the quaife? Although they are pricey, Ive heard goreat things about them. Other than worrying about the install, I contacted the factory and they said NO lsd sold to t...

Re: SR20 alternator charging issue
You need to connect the white/red wire up to either a resistor, or put the stock charge warning light back in. The alternator needs a load off this wire to start producing voltage at idle RPM. Can I just grab a radio shack light and connect the wire to that :?: I did plug a junkyard scrap dash in t...

Re: SR20 alternator charging issue
I know this has been battered before, but I wanted to post pictures of my exact problem, so thanks for the help guys. I took the harness apart to check the wire order and all was good. I fussed with everything for a few hours and nothing worked. At the very end I messed with the alternator plug and ...

SR20 alternator charging issue
Looking for a little help figuring out my charging issue. The alternator checks out good on the bench test, but isnt charging. Guessing its some kind of ground issue, but thats as far as my electrical intelligence stretches. The pictures are how the car was wired from DGR so im not sure whats going ...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
Here's another barnyard unprofessional shit bag job by DGR Fabrication. I'm really lucky I stumbled upon this before I stuck the engine back in, because I'd have to drop it again to fix it. IF YOU CANT EVEN BRAZE TWO PIECES OF COPPER TOGETHER, GET THE HELL OUT OF THE AUTO INDUSTRY BEFORE YOU KILL SO...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
finally decided on which direction to go with the engine rebuild. I was having a hard time trying to find someone I could trust to do the machine work, why I don't know. For some reason Rebello Racing had slipped my mind because I always affiliated them with old school stuff. Anyways, I chose them t...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
I bought my SR from the scummiest and shadiest engine import warehouse, ever. Welcome to New Jersaaayyy 8) Compression tested right there on the floor and I practically tore the engine apart inspecting it before handing the cash over. Lesson learned for sure. Does anyone with SR20 experience know h...

Re: 4 link wagon...needs new motor
Love the project. Wanted to ask how you like the RPSport shim gage tool? Thinking about getting one, but till this point I didn't know anyone that's had experience with it. Did you keep the standard 86mm bore? Do you know how far you can bore the stock sleeves? Love the NSR. I used to race RS's and ...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
be thankfull your block is ok... Looks like just a tiny bit of score that would hone out. beware drg Not sure if the block is salvageable. You cant tell in the picture, but there is quite a score down the cylinder wall. I think maximum bore is .020" per side so I'll find out as soon as I find ...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
Well, got the engine apart and found the culprit. I can't even explain how angry I am  . There is no f---ing way DGR compression checked this engine. If anyone is ever contemplating doing business with DGR, just look at these photos to get a better understanding of their business ethics. I rea...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
Well . . . . . after 5+ years of working on my car I'm getting extremely sick of seeing it parked in the garage, so it's time to get on with the engine re-build. I'm going to tackle it myself with a bit of help from DPR racing. It's the first time building an engine from the bottom up so it should b...

Re: New member 71 SR20det Black Top ground up restomod
Thought I'd throw this in. My 68 grill emblem had been left to die (so I'd thought) and this 3m polish performed a miracle on it :D No I dont work for 3m. . . . James Johnson recommended it and the stuff is excellent. Just thought it might help a few people out considering the age of all of our slig...
