T3 Weld on Coilover Kit Instalation
Hello. I just acquired a set of weld on coilivers for my 510 from Techno Toy Tuning and I'm now in the process of sending it to a suspension shop to install it in the original struts. If I remember correctly (but correct me if I'm wrong) I will need to shorten both the strut and the shock shaft, but...

Single vs Tandem Master Cylinder
Hi! Just out of curiosity, has anyone changed the original tandem MC for a single MC, like a Wilwood GS Compact Remote Master Cylinder (or similar)? If so, how does it feel and perform? What bore size did you went with and why? I'm asking this because I'm researching MC options for my 510. I'm curre...

Dash removal and tach wiring diagram
Hello. I'm form Portugal and I have a 1973 510 Special. As far as I know, that wasn't an option in the US. The car in question is equipetd with speedo and a clock. The SSS had a tach instead of the clock. I was able to find a SSS cluster for sale, and want to install it in the car. However, I need t...

Re: Questions about electronic ignition "stuff"
Then your coil 1.5 plus your ballast 1.5 = 3.0 and good to go. So this only gets rid of the points it does not improve spark power....for how much??? £40 (+/-) What I'm looking for with this is mostly reliability. Not really performance, but if I get some performance out of it, great! Here in Portu...

Re: Questions about electronic ignition "stuff"
If using the Nissan EI distributor you can use a special 0.7 to 1.0 ohm coil. A lower resistance coil will draw more current through it and produce a hotter spark. The EI and the special coil can easily handle this. If you have points they cannot handle this amount of current and will burn out quic...

Questions about electronic ignition "stuff"
Hi! I was planning on installing an electronic ignition kit from Powerspark and I came across two main questions: Should I get a new ignition coil or can I use my old one? And ,if I upgrade to a new coil, do/should I still run an ignition ballast? From an internet research, I came accross many info ...

Re: Running a return line with a fuel pressure regulator
I forgot to ask, but do I have to run a return line when using the stock mechanical fuel pump? Or should I run it regardless of using a mechanical or electric fuel pump?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Running a return line with a fuel pressure regulator
I would suggest to run a return line. That helps with any fuel percolation during heat soak, as there is always cooler fuel there. It helps with a more stable fuel pressure. You would put a .035-.040" restriction in the line, mine is very close to the fuel tank. Just make sure your FEED line i...

Running a return line with a fuel pressure regulator
Hi! I recently bought a Malpassi "Filter King" fuel pressure regulator and I was wodering, should I run a return line to the tank? The intruction don't say anything about running a return. Only the usual stuff (mount it away from eat and vibrations) and that it needs to be mounted after th...

Re: Tunning dual Weber's
Well, I've been away from the Datsun for some time due to university stuff, but today I got a chance to do some things on it. Last time, I removed the spark plugs, and number one had some oil in it. Today I made a compression test. 130 psi on cylinder 1, 2 and 3. Number 4 was 125 psi. I don't know i...

Re: Tunning dual Weber's
You are on the right track now.....TUNING.... It goes without saying that the timing needs to be correct and for sure check the valve lash. You cannot begin to jet the carb till you have made sure those are all correct ( you still need to check fuel pressure) A back fire out of the carb means...it ...

Re: Tunning dual Weber's
UPDATE: I reinstalled the carb covers yesterday and the car started right up. It now runs MUCH better! No gas dripping out, but it still backfires a bit through the carbs. But I would have to guess that is timming related and/or possibly incorrect valve clearance? I still have some work to do, but a...

Re: Tunning dual Weber's
There are NUMEROUS factors involved, so you can try to narrow it down, but in the end you will either use your "butt dyno" with trial & error, swap jets, drive, diagnose, swap jets, drive, diagnose etc etc...........that's what I did as a kid. The other option is to find a local dyno ...
