Re: Noob build
Very nice build, and I hope that you were able to put some good miles on it during this near perfect summer we had. I am inspired by how you ran your fuel lines inside the car, and am going to do the exact same modification. I am also running a KA24. I was wondering if you would be able to post a p...

Re: Noob build
Here we are... the car passed inspection and it's street legal! Feels a little surreal, still have a couple of minor details to go on it but overall I'm very happy. Too bad the tranny grinds like crazy, the synchros are gone so it'll get rebuilt. Took a gamble that didn't pay off. Feels good though,...

I wish I had more hands, so I could give that colour four thumbs up!

Re: Noob build
Nice work! you're getting very close. We started our projects around the same time, but you're way more active than I am. I'm about to dissasemble everything for bodywork/paint. Got any details on your handbrake setup? I went thru the whole thread but I can't find anything. Keep it up, I hope you w...

Re: Noob build
Here are some pics of the 280ZX brake setup... the pics aren't very good since the bottom of the car is covered with undercoating but I think you'll easily get the idea. The stock cables from the 280ZX fit pretty decently.

Re: Noob build
Hey man thank you and glad to hear you're getting to paint. That's a huge step! The handbrake is all 280ZX with a few custom brackets. The rear 82-83 callipers are mounted with the Futofab adapter brackets. The handle is bolted to the floor. The only tricky part is holding down the lines. I made 4 b...

Re: Noob build
Thanks Byron! The car wasn't starting because of some weird stuff in the connection at the ECU. Once that was cleaned up there were no more error codes and she's running like a dream. The rough idle was a missed cap on the underside of the intake manifold causing a vacuum leak, aka not looking hard ...

Re: Noob build
Almost forgot: Back seat and speaker rack is done: IMG_2017.jpg Current state of the dash... although the switches are all wired. That's dimmer, rear defrost, hazard (from 2000 Celica), horn, heated seat, door lock (GM switch - the least ugly I could find that would work), 12V out and heat pass seat...

Re: Noob build
A few items that happened: Made a small console to hold the cell phone and a drink. IMG_2175.jpg had to modify the glovebox to run the duct tube behind it. IMG_2262.jpg Door panels went back on, doors hung. IMG_2279.jpg Tried some wet sanding and polishing... didn't go picture perfect but that's why...

Re: Noob build
Slow and steady wins the race... not in this case. All the details take forever but it's very close. A couple of final touches are still needed - custom heater control panel and then the dash can go back together. Otherwise it's fully running & driving, will aim to have it inspected mid May. IMG...

Re: WTB KA24 water pump pulley/ housing
Thanks for the reply. I already have the stock KA24de water pump housing. Is there any other way to get this done for clearance for the radiator than putting a KA single cam water pump housing and water pump pulley on to run a single drive belt? Never say never, but I just followed the write up for...

Re: Noob build
Been a while... progess didn't go as quickly as I'd hope over the holidays. But the doors are now loaded, power door locks installed, sub box carpeted and bolted down, made a shelf for the rear speakers screwed around with more wiring. Of course the car won't start again, no spark. This time there's...

Re: WTB KA24 water pump pulley/ housing
I have the stock KA24DE outlet housing. If you're doing a single belt conversion you'll need the one from the KA24E. Let me know.
As far as the pulley goes they are harder to come by...

Re: Noob build
For sure, I want to get it inspected first so it's insured and then I'll get on with that. I've never done it before so I'm going to get some help on it.greenthumb wrote: ↑05 Dec 2018 07:10 Looking very very nice. Are planning to cut and polish the clear coat?
