Yet Another Headlight Thread
After tons of reading I learned that my LED headlight problem (no high beams) is likely due to a skuzzy relay so I took mine apart and it was indeed nasty. I sanded the contacts and the ‘foot’ where the screw is. A little Deox & dielectric grease finished the job. I installed the relay and now, ...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
I finally got new KYB AGX adjustable shocks to replace my clapped out 80's air shocks. The ride difference is huge! Old https://i.postimg.cc/QM68YSPm/IMG-3768.jpg New https://i.postimg.cc/76Gks4SP/IMG-3769.jpg The adjuster is facing outward bwcause otherwise it would hit my exhaust. I needed to clea...

Very cool! I love your jacket! The retro racing stuff is so cool to wear when showing off our retro cars.

Re: Suspension Advice Needed
I thought I read 2.50" ID. I'll try to find it again; maybe it was talking about a coilover. I should have measured when I had the struts apart. 200 & 900 combo must be a good one if that's what they designed. Maybe I'll go with that. I just don't want it to ride like a bag of oatmeal (or a...

Re: Suspension Advice Needed
Thanks, Keith! I'm not really looking to lower the car any more than it is. If it happens to go a bit lower with the new setup, that'd be ok but I'm not looking to be in the weeds; our roads are way too crummy for that! I don't know how much was cut from my springs but I don't seem to smash down or ...

Re: Suspension Advice Needed
I'll take a look there for the springs. Thanks! I contacted Eibach, and told them what I had, they told me they didn't have springs for my application. Ummm. Ok then. 🤔🤷🏼♀️ Typical of someone who only knows strictly per application, not experience or size. I installed a set of KYB AGX shocks yester...

Re: STEERING BOX DRAIN PROCEDURE 2012
Thanks, Keith! I actually followed your instructions to adjust it a while back. There is virtually no slop in the steering. I do need to get a proper alignment, though, as it's a hair off and pulls ever so slightly to the left. I think I need to wait until I get my suspension in before I do that tho...

Re: STEERING BOX DRAIN PROCEDURE 2012
https://i.postimg.cc/wBnNxPR6/cartoon-zombie-SM.png Thread from the dead, I know, but I wanted to say thanks to Keith. I just changed out my steering goop and it was nasty! It was literally goop. I replaced it with Lucas 80-90 gear lube. I was surprised I had almost zero debris in there, though, ju...

Suspension Advice Needed
I would like to upgrade the suspension in my car. If I recall correctly, when I bought it in 89-ish the guy told me the springs were cut (front & rear) and it does have clapped-out air shocks in the rear. When I did my build I put new KYB strut inserts up front. I know very little about suspensi...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
You're welcome! I thought it was a pretty interesting contraption! I bet if you take them apart now, you'll make them work. It doesn't seem like a whole lot can go wrong with them but corrosion is their number 1 enemy, I think.

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
The weather is starting to get halfway decent so I've been chipping away at some things on the car. Over the last couple of days, I fixed my horn that has never worked (video link included), I made a 3rd brake light with a modulator so it flashes when I press the brake pedal, I made a rearview camer...

Re: front bumper differences
Right. They don't seem bent but something definitely has to be adjusted. I don't think my car is tweaked because everything lined up easily and I haven't got any weird panel gaps. I'll update when I get an afternoon to work it out.
