Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Wow, Rob! Thank you for those! That is some incredibly interesting information! More great pages saved in my car file! 😍 I'm going to spend some time absorbing it. As far as I know, my car was never an automatic but I don't know if there are any tell-tale signs outside of, well, having an automatic ...

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
I've got that going for me, at least! I've pored over these diagrams and my color diagrams & I just can NOT find what this thing is for! The wire colors are W/L, G, Y, & B with a 4 prong connector. Even though this looks nearly identical to the passing relay Beo posted, the wiring colors don...

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Thank you so much, Beo! Those diagrams will be great to have. I'm saving them to my car file. I don't have the button but that passing light relay looks exactly like the one in question! I have never heard of a passing light system in a 510. Wow! I'm going to go out, grab it & take a pic to comp...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making
Today, while I'm trying to figure out my high beam LED headlight issue I decided to measure the holes in my firewall and 3D print some plugs for them. Sure, I could probably just order them but what fun is ordering $.89 rubber plugs when I can print them myself with a $300 printer and $40 filament? ...

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Well, no luck however I am going to take the relay apart & clean the contacts just to be certain. It did click when I plugged it in, though. I couldn't find it on my wiring diagram, either.

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Ok, I still have it so I'll toss it in and see! My wiring diagram doesn't show 2 separate relays for the headlights but it's worth a try!
Thanks for the suggestion, Beo! I'll report back in a bit after I've gone out to try it.

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Thanks, IH! I tried that as well. Unfortunately, it didn't fix it. I really would like to have my highbeams because I live way out in the rhubarb. Lol! I agree, if I were still in SoCal I probably wouldn't care about it, either.
I have to think my problem is a wonky headlight relay. I dunno.

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Yes! That is helpful! Thank you! So it appears as though R/W=Ground R/B= Low Beam R/L =Hi Beam Left R =Hi Beam Right However, the note there says R/W is Hi-beam, where the diagram indicates it's attached to ground and it shows the R/B circled (not R/W). Typo in the diagram? Unless I'm just totally o...

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Oh, yes! I've been down that road with LED's, too. That brings to mind, though. What do the wire colors coincide with? Like R/B = low beam(?), R/L=_______, R=_______, R/Y=_________ I just checked and my wires are plugged into the connectors as shown in the wiring diagram. Basically, they're the same...

Re: Yet Another Headlight Thread
Yep, I have power at all the terminals of all 4 plugs and ground. The lights I have connected (the outers) work great on low; nice & bright with no flickering or anything like that. I thought the late 510 just had the single relay with the 6 wires. I’ve read the early 510’s had 2 separate relays...

Hmm...I might have to drum up another one or a modern conversion then.
