15 years
My oldest daughter is turning 15 years old this weekend. This means that I've owned my 510 for 15 years, since I bought it very close to the day she was born. Going from age 25 to 40, measuring mile posts in life based on what you learned on your car is neat. Here are some things I picked up a long ...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Got the SR dialed in. Turns out that my engine does not like vent-to-atmo BOVs, so I replumbed it to recirculate. Amazing difference. Finally installed a proper front swaybar. Tearing apart the exhaust now and welding in new flanges. Modifying the transmission crossmember so the exhaust doesn't have...

WTB: front sump sway bar
Looks like the normal suppliers of front sump sway bars are all out of stock, so if anybody has one handy, I'm in the market.
I'll have a 1" rear sump sway bar available once I get my hands on a front sump bar.

Re: Back to Washington
And I'm HERE! The 510 is parked right next to my RV that we're living in for the next couple of months at my buddy's place, and he's got a shop with all the tools I need to get some work done.
I swear, my 510 drives better on these Washington roads!

Re: Back to Washington
Yeah - I'm very excited about it.
California isn't as bad as everyone says. There's a lot of great things about it, and I'll miss those things. But Washington is home and I can't wait. Also, there's a much bigger 510 crowd in Washington!

Back to Washington
After seven years of life in California, I am moving BACK to Washington in the next couple of months and I'm bringing my 510 back with me. I've managed to start up a successful business, build up some capital and equity, and while I am grateful for the opportunity and experience that these last seve...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
In other news, I turned this spare side marker light into my starter button/shift-knob: http://newprotest.org/projects/510/images/20160213_starterButton.jpg http://newprotest.org/projects/510/images/20160213_starterButton_installed.jpg As you may notice, I made the starter button/shift-knob BEFORE I...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Sound deadening! First things first, I had to replace a floor pan that was poorly installed. I picked up a bead-roller and rolled some beads into the sheet. Nothing too fancy - just enough to give it some rigidity. http://newprotest.org/projects/510/images/20160218_floorpan.jpg With a proper floor, ...

Re: SR20DET MAF adventure
I'm having some interesting new issues with my MAF. I decided to build my own intake plumbing between the turbo inlet and the MAF, and in an attempt to quiet down my intake, I've begun building an intake box to quiet things down and to also direct some cooler air into the engine. However, I'm learni...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Do you know what happens when previous owners of engines are lazy and they install the knock sensor in the wrong location? Well, if the sensor is in the bolt-hole right next to the location where the engine and transmission meet, your knock sensor thinks you are pinging out at all times, and the tim...

Re: In-tank fuel pump grounding question
I believe I yanked the in-tank assembly from an old Honda Civic. And I had to fabricate a few bits to make it work properly in the 510 tank... which makes me think that I'm on my own for figuring out the wiring on it. I'm actually planning to run through all the electrical to make sure all the ohms ...

In-tank fuel pump grounding question
I was doing some wiring cleanup on the SR20DET install and something weird happened. I pulled the ground wire from the fuel pump (which is in the tank), and figured that the pump would not kick on when I turned on the ignition. However... With only the power line from the fuel pump relay, the pump p...

There is the slightest possibility that I misread the CAS timing marks.
