Re: Has anyone made custom steering knuckles to adjust ackerman angle?
I have designed and fabricated custom steering knuckles for my A-arm build and I can tell you that you will need to know all the other parameters to determine the correct length and angle for any changes you are contemplating. It is trial and error. Draw it up on CAD and manipulate it through the co...

Re: SCCA Solo EP Double A-arm Build
OK, all moved into the new house and have the car unburied. Will be working on her after the turkey digests. Will include pictures of the new seating arrangement and the electronics. I went with the AEM system. Switching to crank trigger and coil on plug with data tracking of everything down to when...

Re: Rear Control Arm Failure
Let me guess. First, those with rear trailing arm failures run the springs in the stock location (no rear coil overs)? Second, they are not the stock spring rates. It happens when you reach coil bind and the upward force of the wheel is only resisted by the metal on metal force of the chassis throug...

Re: SCCA Solo EP Double A-arm Build
Update: Rod bearing was going so we pulled and rebuilt the motor. Also, filled in a few holes in the firewall and floor that have accumulated over the last 20 years. Getting it prepped for the AEM engine management system (going to crank trigger, putting in MAP, air temp, O2, etc). Will run it with ...

Re: SCCA Solo EP Double A-arm Build
Here is what the rear suspension looks like at the SCCA San Diego National Tour this weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJUnk_TQ7iU. The motor still needs some tuning, the suspension worked great. Ended up 3rd behind the current national champ and his son.

Re: SCCA Solo EP Double A-arm Build
Race recap from March 20th at El Toro. The rain held off all day until I climbed into the car. The dry course got soaked in 10 minutes of rain, but then the rain stopped and the wind started. After a delay to double cone the course, the track was half dry and half wet. Looking at the clouds, I was b...

Re: SCCA Solo EP Double A-arm Build
When my original account didn't work I created another one (that didn't work either). The original still does not work but the second on does. Thanks. Here is a link to the front suspension video. I see that I have to lock down the sway bar from sliding in the mounts. The video is of my 4 Solo runs ...
