Re: Idler arms

Ok so, 6 month quickie review: Works as advertised. Steering feels GREAT. If you're not converting to a rack and pinion, don't have a good idler arm, or haven't decided to buy this idler or one of the delrin converted ones from the various suppliers (which is also a great option): Buy this. You will...

Re: Idler arms

Thank you very much for sharing. I very much appreciate you taking the time to get me the pics. The rod ens on my TC rods appear to be the same size as the ones you're using. I wasn't planning on small rod ends if/when I use more of them in the suspension and I'd really rather not crash my car. Espe...

Re: Idler arms

I guess 40 years on the rod ends speaks for itself. Thanks!! I'll look into acquiring a bottle. Are you really 40years on the same rod ends? That being the case I'll stop worrying about their longevity... lol Is there a pic of your suspension someplace I can go have a look just because I'm curious?...

Re: Idler arms

I do recall the stories of stock tc rods breaking when used with urethane bushings. I remember Kelvin maybe talking about drilling holes through them to increase flexibility. Yeah I had heard that too and drilled mine per Kelvins instructions. They'd been under the car for almost 20 years with no b...

Re: Idler arms

My car is not really an example of a daily driver, although I drove my car to all my race events, car shows, even through some massive rain/snow storms, plus canyon carving ( decades of that) that hit many rain events. My "rod ends" are not sealed and have been in service since 1983/84. T...

Re: Idler arms

I get it too, yes there is a point of load that you do not want to get too for sure. Forgot you do not have plates and rod ends. Yeah, I haven't decided whether rod ends are a great idea on a daily driver that gets driven rain or shine. No boots or seals makes me wonder at the longevity of the rod ...

Re: Idler arms

As the castor goes up...steering to turn gets harder...at low speeds...as the castor literally lifts one side of the car up. The high speed stability as the castor goes up is amazing, should one spend a lot of time at higher speeds. More castor induces negative camber also, which is good for front ...

Re: Idler arms

2.5 is actually not that much, at least relative to what we run, 5 - 6 degrees. It is good the have SOME castor, as that helps the steering wheel to head for center, just a natural condition as castor increases. That's why I dialed in more than near the 0deg that it was to 2.5DEG positive with the ...

Re: Idler arms

Ok. Final review: I did several things to the car all at once and not just this idler arm. I also replaced all tie rod ends AND put the T3 T/C rods in. After an alignment and getting used to the slight change in handling I have to say this idler is pretty great. The steering oddly feels lighter than...

Re: Idler arms

Initial impressions of the product: WOW! It took 10+ weeks to get. I understand they were updating the design AND waiting on parts but they could have given a heads up before I started calling 6 weeks in... Looks GREAT! Fits easy. APPEARS to be good to go with my wagons current pitman arm and center...

Came out real darn close to level. I'm not sure I could really make it any better. These where taken on my lift so it could be canted just a little.

Re: Idler arms

Ok. Some installed pics: ResizerImage5234.jpg ResizerImage5237.jpg I do need new bolts for it now though as it's mounting plate is thicker than a factory style one and my reinforcement plate is taking up some space too. Easy install though. Some notes: You will have to put a wrench the upper nut tha...
